Leeton’s Afghani community feature in ABC’s ‘Back Roads’.
The Riverina town of Leeton, NSW, champions the cause for welcoming and supporting multi-cultural migrants and refugees into the community. Both the Mayor and local Multicultural Officer are united to find ways to help people fit in, especially as they wait for long periods for their family members to join them from abroad.
Refugee Week, 2022
We had over 60 Afghan community members attend the event on Sunday at the CWA Hall in Griffith. Seven families attended and most of the group were ‘unaccompanied’ males (men still waiting for permission for their families to be granted visas to come to Australia).
