The Daily Telegraph hosted the Summit in Griffith, this year bringing to town many of Australia’s esteemed leaders in Federal and State Government, Private enterprise sectors, and locals who know well and truly the battles of Regional NSW Communities.
The Riverina town of Leeton, NSW, champions the cause for welcoming and supporting multi-cultural migrants and refugees into the community. Both the Mayor and local Multicultural Officer are united to find ways to help people fit in, especially as they wait for long periods for their family members to join them from abroad.
We had over 60 Afghan community members attend the event on Sunday at the CWA Hall in Griffith. Seven families attended and most of the group were ‘unaccompanied’ males (men still waiting for permission for their families to be granted visas to come to Australia).
The goal of our Conference is to connect with each other, celebrate our achievements, and collaborate in setting Centacare’s Strategic Plan for the coming 3 years. Our conference was held in Mulwala.
