When may you need family group counselling?

You may need Family Group Conferencing (FGC) when decisions need to be made about the support and care of a child or young person. An FGC is a family-led decision-making meeting involving family members, their support networks, and professionals to develop a support plan. An independent convenor arranges and facilitates the conference.

Family members participating in an FGC can include children, parents, extended family, and significant friends and neighbors.

FGC can help families with:
