Ignite Wellbeing Conference 2024

Ignite Wellbeing is a vibrant and dynamic two day conference key to Centacare South West NSW staff development and 2024's rollout was no exception.

We were thrilled to have Toby Dawson, founder of impact advisory firm Tomorrow Together lead us through an outstanding line up of speakers. The audience was immersed in expertise shared by Director of the Institute of Child Protection Studies, Professor Darryl Higgins, the moving words of Hetty Johnston OAM, founder of Bravehearts Foundation, industry acumen from Insight And Foresight principal James Clampett and the systems change advocacy of Steve Kinmond OAM from Children's Guardian NSW.

Ignite wellbeing, once again, proved a powerful opportunity for transformation. By encouraging personal growth and wellbeing, we position ourselves to continue making lasting positive impacts on the communities we serve.

Pitch-Fest 2024 - Sparking Innovation

The Ignite Wellbeing conference continued to inspire staff with the opportunity to see their ideas brought to life through Pitch-Fest. Pitch-Fest offers Centacare SWNSW staff an opportunity to pitch their creative initiatives that address community needs with the winning pitches receiving a funding prize to bring their ideas to life.

Two funding prizes were up for grabs this year valued at $10,000 & $5,000 respectively.

Congratulations to our winners:

1st prize - $10,000 | Child Safety Education Program | Viv, Mahalia, Keryn, Lucy, Britt and Ainsley

Supporting prevention and intervention to keep children safe in the community.

2nd prize - $5,000 | New Parent Support Pack | Tash, Raigen, Alice, Deb and Mieke

Offering a suite of printable education material to be provided as a take home pack to new parents.

Congratulations again to our winners and a big thank you to all participants for your creativity and dedication! Stay tuned as these ideas become impactful realities.

Caring Dads Program

Do you sometimes feel so angry with your child that you are going to erupt? Are you worried about your bond with your child?

Would you like to learn about the different ways you can care for your child?

You're not alone and the Caring Dads™ Program might be for you....

What is Caring Dads?

As seen on The Project, Caring Dads™ is a FREE, evidence-based program that supports men by helping them develop their child-centered fathering skills and stop controlling behaviours.

Over 14 sessions dads will:

Develop skills to cope in healthy ways to frustrating situations.
Understand how different fathering strategies and choices affect children.
Learn to recognise controlling behaviours and know how to stop them.
Learn strategies to strengthen your parent/child relationship.

In addition the group meetings offer an opportunity for men to connect as fathers, feel empowered by positive parenting strategies and understand the importance of practicing self-care.

Foundation Scholarship

2024 & 2025

The Centacare South West NSW Foundation Scholarship aims to address the pressing need for professional mental health and wellbeing support in regional areas by funding six scholarships valued at $5,000 each across two years at Charles Sturt University.

2024 Applications

Applications for 2024 scholarships are now closed with recipients to be announced March 25th, 2024.

2025 Applications

Applications for 2025 scholarships to be announced.

Graduate Program

Centacare South West NSW Graduate Program

Centacare offers a range of graduate positions within our organisation.

Our graduate recruitment program is a fantastic opportunity for new graduates to join a team which guides you through the first year of your degree. You will have extensive support & mentoring, supervision, & a tailored professional development program to suit your post- graduate qualifications. Starting dates are flexible for successful applicants, as we want you to be fully ready to kick start your career with Centacare South West NSW.
