Who is this program for?

This 3 week online education course is designed to help parents or carers resolve difficult behaviour in teenagers.

When: Online each Thursday 12-2pm for 3 weeks
Starts: 5th September, 2024

Course Objectives:

  • Understand some common ground shared by parents and reasonable expectations to hold about adolescents.
  • Form new understandings of adolescents.
  • Lean a three-option model and flow chart for decision-making.
  • Self check-in, first, for parents.
  • Learn how to build a relationship with your teenager and making the best of your non-crisis conversations with them.

Included:  

  • A workbook
  • A certificate on completion

Being patient and more understanding and that it is okay to take a step back. It’s not about being the “perfect” parent it’s about the “trying” parent. Using different wording instead of trying to figure out what to say/do. Using a different space for rest time instead of a punishment. Just be there for them when they need you. Great course, so many different challenges and really helpful. Plus the ladies are awesome.

I gained a better understanding of the less well known aspects of ADHD in children. It was fabulous to learn about some strategies to use in managing and planning executive functioning difficulties. It was also empowering to recognise some of the strategies we already have in effect at home.

Understanding my girl’s emotions and how to comfort and support her. Understanding and interactions with her and understanding where she is coming from.
