The Centacare South West NSW Foundation Scholarship supports regional students who are passionate about mental health and community wellbeing. Offered in partnership with Charles Sturt University, these scholarships provide practical financial support and a pathway to real career opportunities. If you want to make a meaningful difference, this is your chance to step forward with confidence.
What this scholarship offers
Our Foundation Scholarship is designed to ease financial pressure and open doors for students committed to supporting regional communities.
Financial Support
Receive a $5,000 one-off payment to help cover study costs, placement expenses, or essential living needs.
Career-Building Opportunity
Successful recipients may apply for Centacare South West NSW’s Graduate Program towards the end of their studies. This can provide a direct pathway into meaningful regional work in psychology, social work, or human services.
Support for regional students
Ideal for students who have lived or studied in Griffith or surrounding communities, and who want to contribute to the mental health workforce across South West NSW.
A step towards stronger communities
Your passion, combined with professional training, helps build resilient, connected communities. This scholarship supports students dedicated to making a real difference.
Eligibility & How to apply
Applications are open to continuing students at CSU who meet the study and residency criteria listed below.
Eligibility includes:
- Studying at a CSU regional campus: Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst, Dubbo, Orange, or Wagga Wagga
- Enrolled in one of the following:
- Bachelor of Psychology
- Bachelor of Social Work
- Bachelor of Human Services
- Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology)
- Honours or Masters in the above fields
- In year 2, 3, 4, Honours, or Postgraduate study
- GPA of 4.0 or higher
- Evidence of completing part or all of high school in Griffith or surrounding communities, or residency in these areas
