Put away those razors gentlemen, Movember is just around the corner!

It’s that time of year again, gents when the mo takes centre stage and the razors take a holiday. Whether you’re channeling your inner Merv Hughes or going for the more subtle Tony Armstrong look, there’s never been a better reason to grow a mo.

Movember isn’t just about facial hair, it’s about starting conversations, raising awareness, and funding life-changing projects for men’s health. From mental health and suicide prevention to prostate and testicular cancer, this global movement is quite literally changing the face of men’s health.

Grow, Move, Host or Mo Your Own Way

While the classic mo remains the star of the show, there are plenty of ways to get involved – yes, ladies, that includes you too.

Grow a Mo

Start clean-shaven on November 1 and let your moustache do the talking. Whether you rock a Dennis Lillee lip-lash or a David Boon broom, each bristle sparks conversation about issues that often go unsaid.

Move for Movember

Prefer running to grooming? Commit to walking or running 60 kilometres across November – one kilometre for each of the 60 men lost to suicide every hour around the world.

Host a Mo-Ment

Gather your mates, family, or colleagues for a fundraising event. From BBQs to trivia nights, every Mo-ment counts in helping men live happier, healthier, longer lives.

Mo Your Own Way

Not into running or growing? Create your own challenge. Climb a mountain, shave your head, go offline for a week, or give up beer for the month – whatever pushes your limits and sparks support.

Famous Aussie Mos That Made History

Australia has a proud history of world-class moustaches. Cricket fans will remember the glory days of Merv Hughes, whose legendary horseshoe mo was as fierce as his bowling. Dennis Lillee’s tash was practically its own player on the field, while David Boon’s iconic lip-warmer became as recognisable as the man himself.

Rugby’s Nick “Honey Badger” Cummins brought the mo back for a new generation, proving you can be rugged and raise awareness. And let’s not forget AFL legend Leigh Matthews – whose moustache could probably win a Brownlow on its own.

Beyond sport, we’ve seen some iconic Australian mos grace our screens – from Tony Armstrong’s effortlessly cool retro vibe to Nick Cave’s moody musician mystique. Even Darryl Kerrigan from The Castle gave us a homegrown reminder that every mo, no matter how modest, has its moment to shine.

Why It Matters

Behind the fun and friendly competition, Movember carries an urgent message. Too many men are dying too young from preventable causes. Men are still less likely to reach out for help when struggling with mental health, and early detection for cancers like prostate and testicular remains critical.

Movember funding supports groundbreaking research, community initiatives, and early intervention programs – helping men across Australia and the world get the support they need.

So, whether you’re growing a mo, moving 60km, or hosting a Mo-ment, every action counts. Together, we can change the statistics and save lives.
