About the role
We are seeking a passionate Family and Relationship Practitioner to join our inclusive, supportive and collaborative team in our Albury office. This full-time role provides a range of therapeutic interventions for children, youth and adults, including parent education, intake and counselling services.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver a range of therapeutic interventions for children, young people and adults.
- Provide parent education, intake functions and counselling services.
- Draw on a wide range of counselling theories and practices to support clients across the lifespan.
- Facilitate evidence-based group programs and adapt these to suit diverse settings and needs.
- Work collaboratively with families, schools, and community services to support positive outcomes.
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Counselling (minimum diploma), Social Work or Psychology.
- Demonstrated experience applying counselling theories and delivering counselling across the lifespan.
- Experience delivering evidence-based group work in varied contexts.
- Strong understanding of issues contributing to family dysfunction, family breakdown, child abuse, family and domestic violence, homelessness and unemployment.
- Sensitivity to the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse clients, and people with disability or disadvantage.
- Ability to obtain, or willingness to obtain: Working With Children Check, National Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
Desirable
Membership or eligibility for membership with:
- Australian Counselling Association (ACA)
- Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA)
- Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Mental Health Accreditation with AASW.
Experience with assessment, individual and group treatment and behaviour intervention models, including:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
- Strengths-based approaches
- Trauma-informed care
