Are you looking for a role with purpose, heart, and unstoppable impact? Centacare South West NSW is seeking a Child Sexual Assault and Harmful Sexual Behaviour Clinician to join our Wagga Wagga team on a part-time basis.
With increased program funding supporting innovative responses to child sexual abuse, this role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children, young people and families. You will deliver trauma-informed counselling, case management and advocacy, while supporting families to feel safe, heard and empowered.
The role also includes early intervention support for children under 10 who are displaying harmful sexualised behaviours, working collaboratively with families to provide guidance with care, confidence and compassion. You will be part of a values-driven, supportive team that is deeply committed to improving community wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
May include:
- Providing trauma-informed counselling and therapeutic support to children, young people and adults affected by sexual assault.
- Delivering early intervention support for children under 10 displaying harmful sexualised behaviours.
- Undertaking case management, advocacy and coordinated referrals to support safety and wellbeing.
- Working collaboratively with families, carers and relevant stakeholders.
- Maintaining accurate, ethical and timely clinical documentation.
- Contributing to a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
Essential requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Community Services, Health, Counselling, Social Work, Social Sciences or a related field
- Demonstrated experience working in sexual assault, family violence or closely related practice areas
- Experience delivering trauma-informed therapeutic support to victim-survivors and non-offending families or carers
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a team environment
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current National Police Check
Desirable
- Experience assessing and supporting children displaying harmful sexualised behaviours
- Experience working collaboratively with families in complex or sensitive circumstances
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice
