On Tuesday 19th July our local Member for Murray- Helen Dalton MP, hosted a morning tea to celebrate and acknowledge some inspiring members of our community through the Community Recognition Recipient Awards Ceremony.

Community Recognition recipients are nominated by members of the NSW Parliament for their achievements and contributions in their communities.

Centacare is proud to announce that our Chief Operations Officer Tracey Febo,  along with Legal Practitioner Julia Puntoriero were recognised for their advocacy for Griffith and surrounding districts to have access to a Children’s Contact Centre.

This was a partnership between Centacare and Julia through her legal practice after recognising the impact on separated families who are unable to have safe and supervised access visits to their children.

“Our work together has been about a 4 year project lobbying state and federal governments, initiating community needs analysis, feedback, and support from local councils, health, education, legal, and co community social service agencies” said Tracey.

The application is now awaiting a tender response and all fingers are crossed it is successful.

We wish Tracey and Julie all the best in moving forward with this project. Congratulations.
